Tragically in Pakistan all institutions are in decline and the bail out from this morass seems not in sight. The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) was considered an independent, impartial and efficient institution in the country. The Commission is responsible to conduct the exam for Central Superior Service (CSS) but the performance of FPSC is worsening by the day causing unease among the candidates. The CSS 2010exam was held in March 2010 and the written result was declared after a long period of six months on October 14, 2010. Later the interview process of 638 candidates took another six months. The last interview took place on May 6, 2011.In previous years the result of CSS was declared on third day after the last interview. But this yearalmost two weeks have elapsed but the FPSC is giving no clueregarding the declaration of the result. This is not just one incident of inefficiency of FPSC. The CSS 2009 final result was withdrawnlast year amid reports of tempering with the result. Notwithstanding the impartiality of Justice Rana Bhagwandas as head of FPSC, doubts have surfaced among the candidates minds regarding the delay in CSS 2010final result.I request the FPSC Chairman to take notice of the delay and make public thereasons of delay.
