RAWALPINDI – With the increase in intensity of summer, the Health Department has intensified its drive of anti-dengue virus spray in various areas of city.

The Health department has started the implementation of its plan of action against dengue under the supervision of DHO Dr. Ansar Ishaq as directed by the DCO and EDO Health Rawalpindi. The campaign accomplished by two teams by carrying out fumigation on roads, streets and sewerage lines in areas of Liaquat Road, New Katarian, Pindora, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed and Sadiqabad.

The DCO and EDO Health have directed the anti-dengue spray teams to gear up their activities against dengue.

Malaria Supervisor Malik Meharban said that the public participation in the drive against dengue would be ensured and social mobilization would be main focus of the drive.

Meanwhile, Rawal Town administration has taken strong notice of flux of furniture shops in residential areas, ordering them to shift to commercial zones with immediate effect. While convening a meeting of furniture makers, TMO Chaudhry Liaqat Ali also directed furniture makers of Amarpura, Chah Sultan and other areas to get their businesses registered as a commercial entity.
