SARGODHA - Regional Police Officer Amjad Javeed Saleemi said that drive against unregistered vehicles and motorbikes and crackdown against criminals are going on without any discrimination.

He added that scores of outlaws had been held by the police in Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar districts. Talking to the media, the RPO said that all the district police officers had been directed to curb crime and maintain a comprehensive system of patrolling. He said that all the station house officers had been directed to behave humbly with the public at police stations.

He said the police should deal with criminals sternly to ensure peace and tranquility in the society. He said that the cooperation among police and masses is essential for the eradication of crimes. He was critical of irregularities in traffic system in cities and public places. He said that illegal stops of motorcycle rickshaws and public transport should be eliminated. He also directed against the aerial firing incidents in wedding and said the officer of relevant police stations would be responsible for such events.

PASSPORT OFFICES DEMANDED: The populace of Mianwali and Bhalwal demanded that the government should set up passport offices in the areas to solve their problems at local level.

They said in their applications to Prime Minister Gilani and other authorities concerned, they said that Passport Office Sargodha is so far from their areas and they have to bear difficulties in this regard. They said that all feasibilities and requisite work has been completed for establishment of passport offices at Mianwali and Bhalwal so the directives should be issued in this regard.
