Boy drowns in Ravi River


LAHORE – A 19-year-old boy drowned in the Ravi River near Sefan Point in Burki police area on Sunday.
Police said Muhammad Aamir and his several friends, residents of the nearby village, were enjoying swimming in the river when he drowned in comparatively deep water. Later, his body was recovered by the rescue officials and was removed to the City morgue.
Meanwhile, police found two bodies from different areas of the City. A body of a man, yet to be identified, was found from Parinda Market in Data Darbar police area. Police after recovering the body, made numerous announcements in nearby mosques but no one owned the body, which was shifted to the City morgue.  Similarly, a body of a minor child was recovered from the canal near EME Society on Multan Road.
Police said someone had killed the unknown boy and threw his body in the canal. “It is a blind murder so we are clueless at this stage,” an on duty police officer said. Further investigations are underway.
