CAA to facilitate overseas Pakistanis


LAHORE – The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), on the direction of the Supreme Court, will provide maximum travel facilities to overseas Pakistanis at international airports, the Authority’s spokesperson said on Sunday.
He said that in pursuance of the directive issued by the chief justice of Pakistan in suo moto action,f CAA Director General Nadeem Yousufzai called an extra ordinary meeting at the Authority’s Headquarters, Karachi.
The meeting chaired by the CAA director general was also attended by Deputy Director General Junaid Ahmed Siddiqui, Principal Director (Airport Services) Capt Hamid Abbas Gardezi and all directors concerned to plan and implement enhanced measures for the convenience of overseas Pakistanis travelling to and from the country’s airports.
It was concluded that the CAA in collaboration with the Overseas Pakistanis Foundations and other stakeholders would implement the best possible measures to enhance the comforts of passengers. The measures included the efficient manning of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Counters, display of privileges of the overseas Pakistanis at prominent locations and announcement to that effect by the airlines.  It was decided that shuttle service between airport and hotel would also be provided to the passengers. Rebated radio cabs for various cities would also be provided, the spokesman concluded.
