KARACHI – JI Pakistan Chief Syed Munawwar Hassan said that the DPC was prepared for the defence of country’s ideological and geographical boundaries, here on Sunday.Eminent leaders of the political and religious parties addressed the workers convention held here at New M.A Jinnah Road near Islamia College under the aegis of DPC against the proposed restoration of Nato supply routes to Afghanistan from Pakistani soil.In his key address, Syed Munawwar Hassan said that US, India and Nato were bitter enemies of the Muslims and Islam because they wanted to deprive us of the spirit of Jehad so there was dire need of unity.He said that the people of Karachi were not alone as 18 million people of the country were with them. He said that the present rulers have been restructuring the foreign policy so as to favour the US. The past 11 years war had been clear that it was solely against the Muslim Ummah, he added. He warned the political and religious parties to set aside their differences and get united or else the enemies would ruin the country.The Nato supply lines restoration would never be allowed because the decision would be resisted by millions of people, he said.JI Pakistan Secretary General Liaquat Baloch said that the cowardice of the rulers of the country had pushed the country on the verge of destruction and bloodshed was being carried out in Karachi. Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that he would be with those who would play their role in preventing the restoration of NATO supply lines from the country. He also said that he would be pleased to offer his arrest for offering resistance against the restoration of Nato supply.Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said that the war on terror was the greatest deception and lie of the century.Nato supply lines from Karachi would never be allowed, he stated. The freedom of Pakistan was conditioned by the complete freedom of Afghanistan, he added.The United States had desecrated the Holy Quran and hence no agreement could be made with the US, he said.Mufti Usman Yar Khan said that the DPC would defend the country and would not allow the Nato supply lines restoration.
