Palijo blames Malik, MQM for bloodshed

KARACHI – Awami Tehreek Chief Rasool Bux Palijo on Sunday blamed Altaf Hussain-led MQM and Interior Minister Rehman Malik for the spiralling violence in the city and branded them as agents of the United States.
Talking to the media at the Civil Hospital Karachi, the nationalist leader alleged that both Altaf Hussain and Rehman Malik were more loyal to their second country of residence, the United Kingdom, and demanded the government to immediately cancel their citizenship of Pakistan.
Earlier, the nationalist leader inquired after those wounded in the attack on his party’s anti- Muhajir province rally on May 22.Palijo called on the government to arrest attackers of the peaceful rally and penalise them sternly. He also appealed to the Supreme Court to reopen the NRO cases against MQM men, recalling that “over 8,000 cases of murder, kidnapping, extortion and targeted killings were closed down”.
Condemning the attack on a bus in Nawabshah district, the AT chief asserted that action should be taken against terrorists as they had no language or ethnicity. Rasool Bux Palijo meanwhile visited Lyari and Chakra Goth areas, where he offered condolence to families of the rally victims.
