KARACHI  - Under the dynamic leadership of Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, the Inspiring Leadership, Empowerment and Development in Youth (iLEAD) organised “Active Women Walk” from DA Recreational Park to Floating Ship, Main Sea View Road. Women from different walks of life participated in the event. Minister for Youth Affairs Faisal Sabzwari was the chief guest of the walk. He lauded the efforts of the iLEAD team and Habib University Foundation for organizing an event for women. In his speech, he laid stress on women empowerment and acknowledged the active role played by women in strengthening and fostering a healthy and vibrant society. He further added that the role played by women in any society is vital as they are the ones behind nurturing of current and future generations and in current crucial time, we needed an event like this which advocates not only the need of a healthy society but also a society where all the citizens of Pakistan remain united and erase racial and ethnic differences among each other.The iLEAD is a partnership project of Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh and Habib University Foundation with technical support extended by the British Council. It aims at facilitating leadership, personal development, and active citizenship in youth from Hyderabad and Karachi.The aim of the walk was to advocate the need to engage women in creating healthy society. which is characterized by people who not only possess good physical health and fitness but also demonstrate respect, compassion and acceptance for diversity and foster harmonious relationships among themselves.From Youth Affairs Department, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui - Secretary, and Khurshid Ali Shaikh - Director, were also present in the event. Throughout the event, the Abul Hassan Scouts Group actively supported the iLEAD team in organizing the event.
