3rd tranche of Pak relief assistance for flood victims reaches Sri Lanka

COLOMBO: A special cargo plane carrying relief goods for the Sri Lankan flood victims from Pakistan arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport Katunayake this afternoon.

The Pakistani cargo plane brought the 3rd consignment of relief good containing medicine, raincoats, rain boots, mosquito replants, shelters and tents which were identified by the Sri Lankan authorities as immediate requirements for the flood victims.

The Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Sipra handed over the third consignment of relief assistance to the Ministry of Disaster Management Sri Lanka.

The consignment was received on behalf of the Sri Lankan Government by the Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management Mr. S.S. Miyanawala at Bandaranaike International Airport Katunayake.

The first and second consignments of relief items containing generators, shelters, tents, medicines, etc. were handed over by the High Commissioner of Pakistan H.E. Maj. Gen. (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain to the Sri Lankan authorities on May 23 & 25, 2016 respectively.
