LAHORE (PR): Metro Shoes, country’s trendsetting footwear, clothing, and accessories retailer, has hit another milestone by launching a new store here on MM Alam Road.

The shop was inaugurated by Maryam Nedeem, Director Metro Shoes. Omer Tariq, Chief Operating Officer, and Majid Khan, General Manager, were also present. The new store features a breathtaking collection of chic shoes, high-class handbags, and ‘a la mode’ apparels for men, women, and kids. Metro Shoes has announced a 30% fiat discount on its products on display at the new store.

 Emirates offer Iftar service for Ramazan

LAHORE/ DUBAI (PR): Emirates is bringing back its Iftar service for customers travelling during the holy month of Ramazan. The special boxes have been re-designed and will be available across all cabin classes on select flights including those to and from the Gulf region as well as Umrah groups travelling to Jeddah and Medina. The Iftar boxes will allow those observing Ramazan to break their fast with a nutritious and balanced meal. The service has been a mainstay on Emirates flights for over 20 years and is available for the whole month of Ramadan expected to begin on 6 June this year.

The boxes feature a new look with a clean and modern Arabesque design inspired by the region. The Iftar service is a further commitment towards an exceptional travel experience, providing comfort and convenience to customers who are observing the holy month of Ramadan and allowing them to enjoy the world class meals the airline is known for.

This year’s Ramadan boxes will have a new menu designed by Emirates’ chefs. These menus feature a Middle Eastern flavour, while remaining distinctly global, and will be refreshed mid-Ramadan. The Iftar box includes options such as za’atar chicken with hummus, spinach fatayer, halloumi cheese and cucumber sandwiches, traditional sweets such as mammoul and dates, as well as yoghurt.

ISLAMABAD (PR): Putting its next-generation IoT product 'Telenor Companion' watch to test for the social good, Telenor Pakistan has collaborated with Picture Autism, a non-profit working to create awareness about autism in Pakistan. The pilot phase comprises distribution of Companion watches among autistic children and to test its efficacy in addressing the needs of autistic children and their families.

 PSO helps AKUH

KARACHI (PR): Pakistan State Oil has donated a substantial amount for a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Aga Khan University Hospital. The new eight-bed facility, which was inaugurated the other day, aims to help cure infants, toddlers and pre-teens whose health requires special attention.

PSO’s donation was one of the largest among the donors. On this occasion, PICU consultant Dr Qalbe Abbas thanked the donors in their efforts to address the shortage of intensive care units for children in the country. Dr. Qalbe, while quoting a recent UNICEF report, stated that one in every 11 children in Pakistan dies before turning 5 and such facilities are essential to treat children with complicated and rare diseases.

 CP’s global art contest

KARACHI (PR): This year, Colgate Palmolive's "My Bright Smile"' global art contest received an overwhelming response from children across Pakistan, with 110,283 entries from 2219 schools.

On the 27th of May, an exhibition displaying various entries was held at the Alliance Franchise in Karachi, with Nahid Raza, Senior Artist & Principal, Arts Council Institute of Arts & Crafts, Riffat Alvi, Director VM Art Gallery and Munawar All Syed, Visual Artist & Teacher at Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture and Visual Studies Department, University of Karachi as the judges.

Prizes were distributed to the 100 best entries and 12 lucky winners were selected for their exemplary pieces of original art. To acknowledge the hard work and participation of all the contestants, each one was awarded a Colgate "My Bright Smile' Certificate.

The next phase of the contest involves the top 12 entries to be sent to Colgate Palmolive's Global Head Office in New York, to represent Pakistan and compete against the entries received from other countries. The 12 best entries from across the globe will be showcased in the "My Bright Smile "TM 2017 Calendar and each winner will receive a Colgate Palmolive grant of $250 while their respective schools will receive a grant of US $500.

 TCS Ramazan initiative

 SCBPL holds art exhibition

KARACHI (PR): Building on brand promise ‘Here for good’, Standard Chartered Bank (SCBPL) organised an exclusive art exhibition ‘Awaken Our Legacy’ – featuring diverse disciplines of Pakistani art namely ceramics, drawing, miniature, painting, photography and sculpture.

The inspiration to organise this event was Bank’s global initiative: Seeing is Believing, through which the Bank has been working to eliminate avoidable blindness since 2003. A portion of the sales proceeds will be donated towards the Bank’s local community investment partner in the Seeing is Believing initiative: Layton Rehmatullah Benevolent Trust.
