Tolerance, dialogue need of the hour: Kaira

ISLAMABAD - Former federal minister for information Qamar Zaman Kaira has said tolerance and dialogue need of the hour to promote culture of patience which is basic principal to establish peace in society.

He was addressing at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected SZABIST Student Council at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology, Islamabad.

In the ceremony, Qamar Zaman Kaira urged the students to practice tolerance in every field of their life and to execute and respect the dialogues of one another. He remarked upon a students’ responsibility as a citizen and advised to refrain from any undue and unnecessary indulgence in the politics i.e. their energies should converge on elevating their careers and be better human beings instead.

In a simple but dignified ceremony on-campus, the freshly elected council members took their pledges and swore to execute their authorities for the greater good of SZABIST Islamabad. Keeping the traditions alive, the student body rejuvenated the proceedings with their enthusiasm and ardor.

Amidst a jam-packed audience of students, faculty, staff members, the entire council took their oaths. Arsalan Arif, Hasnain, Sami Ullah and Baseer took their oaths as the President, Vice President, General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Whilst addressing the students at the oath-taking ceremony Head of Campus. Khusro Pervaiz Khan reinstated the need for exercising profound honesty in all areas of their lives and extended felicitations to the newly elected body of the Student Council.

The oath-taking ceremony concluded with the mesmerizing and soothing violin performance by Rana Fahad, an emerging talent who recently performed at the Nescafe Basement Season 4.
