peshawar   -  Preparations for Al Quds Rally and a hug public meeting in the provincial capital by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) are underway.

JI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan told journalists at party secretariat Markez-e-Islami on Thursday that solidarity and support towards Muslims of Palestine was duty of all fellow Muslims.

Mushtaq Ahmad said that it was the need of the time for Muslim leadership including Pakistan to change their policies about Zionist state of Israel.

The JI Senator disclosed that JI had been in contact with the people of Palestine through a Turkish NGO, and sending them relief items during their trying times.

“We need Islamic force for the safety of people of Palestine and the government of Pakistan should recognise Palestinian organisation Hamas.”

He condemned the alleged use of Pakistani space by the US, arguing that now Pakistan was being entrapped in another war.

He made it clear that JI would resist strongly if the government allowed country’s soil to any other country.

Mushtaq Ahmad Khan also said: “We are living in 2021, not 2001 when the US was coming to attack Afghans and now they are running from the region.”

He also condemned attacks on journalists in the country and said such acts were not allowed in any civilised country, being an act of terror. He said the government needed to protect journalists.

He said that all arrangements had been made for the May 30 of Al Quds Million March and the main gathering would be in front of Markez-e-Islami, for which the administration had given permission.
