ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday turned down a petition wherein it was stated that the Prime Minister had asked Senator Ali Zafar to hold an inquiry regarding registration of three criminal cases by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against Jahangir Tareen.
A single bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice of IHC Athar Minallah conducted hearing of the petition filed by Farhad Shahid Orakzai and dismissed the same by terming it as “frivolous.” The bench also imposed Rs.25,000 fine on the petitioner for consuming the valuable time solely meant for adjudicating litigation relating to bonafide litigants.
The court said, “The cost is directed to deposited with the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) of this Court and it shall be used for payment of fee to counsels who are appointed by the court in Jail Appeals.”
