Crime against humanity

The Kashmiri American Council (KAC) has expressed utter disgust at the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Mumbai, India. Condemning this bestiality in the strongest possible terms, the KAC pledged to contribute in whatever way possible to the rehabilitation effort of the affected families. Ghulam Nabi Fai of KAC prayed that the authorities would make all possible efforts to investigate, apprehend and punish all who are guilty of committing these reprehensible crimes against humanity. The KAC Board, in an extraordinary meeting, pledged to oppose those who resort to violence in order to pursue whatever ends they claimed as their objectives. About the reports indicating that terrorists specifically targeted Western tourists, the KAC said that targeted victimization of innocents has no justification. The KAC hoped that the Indian citizenry would allow for a cooling period during investigations so that communal harmony prevails during this troubling time in India's history. KASHMIRI AMERICAN COUNCIL (KAC), Washington, USA, via e-mail, November 27.
