LAHORE - A Korean delegation called on the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday. Project of Bus Rapid Transit System was discussed during the meeting. Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Transport, Director Green Pakor Pvt. Ltd. Ms. Sharon Kim and officials concerned were present on this occasion. Talking to the delegation, the CM said that provision of quality transport facilities to the people was priority of the government and solid steps were being taken for this purpose. He said local and foreign investors were being encouraged for investment in transport sector. He said the project of Bus Rapid Transit System was of great importance and we wanted its early completion. This project will be completed in a most transparent manner and bureaucracy will not be allowed to create hindrance in this respect, he added. Meanwhile, Ambassador of Greece in Pakistan Petros Mavroidis met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday. Matters of mutual interest and cooperation in various sectors were discussed during the meeting. MNA Pervaiz Malik, Chairman Planning and Development Board Javed Aslam and Secretary Commerce Fazal Abbas Maken were also present on this occasion. Talking to the Ambassador, the CM said Pakistan was facing security problems, but the entire nation was united in the war against terrorism and, Pakistan would definitely succeed in eliminating the menace of terrorism. He said there was a need of promoting economic and trade activities between Pakistan and Greece. A delegation from Punjab could be sent to Greece for ascertaining the cooperation in various sectors between Punjab and Greece. The Ambassador said a large number of Pakistanis were living in Greece and they were playing very important role in the development of various sectors. He further said practical steps would be taken for the promotion of cooperation between Pakistan and Greece and exchange of delegations between both the countries was of great importance in this regard. He said he would welcome the delegation from Punjab for enhancing economic and trade relations between two countries, and if the CM would lead the delegation, it would be a matter of pleasure for him. Senior Minister of Sindh for Education Pir Mazharul Haq also called on the CM and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.
