LAHORE - Health Department Punjab has released funds for salaries of Daily Wages Employees of Multan Institute of Cardiology. A spokesman of the department told that Director Finance, MIC has released an amount of Rs 1.857 million for salaries of the employees. Meanwhile, Secretary Health Punjab Fawad Hassan Fawad has directed all Executive District Officers (EDOs) Health to immediately chalk out District Medical Cover plan with the collaboration of officers of other concerned departments for providing emergency medical treatment to the mourners and to cope with any eventuality during the Muharam-ul-Haram. All relative departments and notables of the community must be informed about the action plan, he said. While chairing a departmental meeting attended by the Special Secretary Health Wasim Mukhtar, Director General Health Dr Muhammad Aslam Ch Additional Secretary Health (Tech) Dr Mushtaq Ahmad and all the EDOs, the Secretary urged the officers to maintain the same spirit during Muharam which was expressed by them while providing Health facilities to the flood affectees. He directed that all the mourning processions must be provided medical cover, an ambulance equipped with all necessary medical facilities and the staff must accompany the procession. He said that during the majalis foolproof arrangements should also be made for providing medical treatment to the mourners. He directed the officers to ensure their presence during 7th to 10th Muharam and monitor all the activities personally. He directed the EDOs that sufficient stock of blood must be arranged in the blood banks to meet any emergency. In this connection a blood collection campaign should also be carried out, he maintained.
