LAHORE - Two people were found dead under mysterious circumstances from Lytton Road police area on Saturday, police said. The police said that a 30-year-old man, yet to be identified so far, was lying dead near Choburgi Park as the reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the dead body and contacted the police by phone. Police investigators said that apparently the man was a drug addict. Similarly, another unidentified man, 50, was also found dead alongside a road in Lytton Road area. The police have removed the bodies to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was burnt to death in his house at Mohammadi Chowk in Nawankot police precincts on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ijaz, resident of the same locality. Police investigators believed the death was accidental but the investigation of the case was underway. As per details, the deceased was residing alone at the third floor of his house since long. On the day of incident he slept while smoking a cigarette, which caught fire and the charpoy, clothes and other luggage was badly damaged. The victim suffered multiple burn injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Earlier, the Rescue 1122 officials, Edhi ambulances and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and extinguished the fire within one hour. The body was shifted to the City morgue for autopsy. Police investigators said any solid reason would be established after seeking the autopsy report. Further investigation is underway.
