ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Cricket Association for Physically Handicapped Director Coordination, M Ashfaq Chattha Tuesday said that all the arrangements have been finalised to host visiting Indian Physically Challenged cricket team for the one-off match on World Disabled Day on December 3 at Marghazar ground.
He said that 19-member Indian handicapped team including officials would reach Wagah border on December 2, where they would receive them. The team would reach Islamabad same day, the match would be played on December 3 to mark the World Disabled Day in a befitting manner.
He said they had earlier planned to play this match in UAE but after consultations with the Indian handicapped management, it was decided that match will be held in Pakistan. The match will be held at Marghazar ground after the nod of PCAPH officials. He said, the training camp for the selection of Pakistan team will star today at Shalimar Cricket Ground under the command of Irfan Bhatti while Raja Tahir will assist him. Players from across the country had already reached Islamabad for participation in trials, Ashfaq concluded.
Meanwhile, director logistic Faheem Khan said that security officials promised to provide foolproof security to both teams as some high-ups including Australian High Commissioner Peter Hayward and envoys of around 30 different embassies would witness the match beside PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf, who would be the chief guest on the occasion.
He said they are grateful to Islamabad Chamber who would host reception in honour of both teams on Dec 4 at Chamber premises while PNCA DG Tauqeer Nasir will arrange a cultural show in honour of both teams.
