Asif marches on in World Snooker C’ship

LAHORE - Pakistan’s M Asif stormed into the knock-out rounds of IBSF World Snooker Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria, when he out-potted Fabian Louison of France 4-0 on Tuesday evening,
With his third straight win in pool ‘H’, Asif maintained his top spot in the five-man group. The 30-year-old Asif, who lost in the last 32 rounds in the World Championship in Hyderabad, India, last year produced a spectacular potting and safety play against Louison.
National Champion Asif faced some resistance in the first two frames, But outclassed his French opponent to chalk out an impressive 67-31, 81-28, 78-08, 71-18 victory .
Asif’s form can be gauged from the fact that he has dropped just one frame in his three league matches so far. Top three players from each group will advance in knock-out rounds.
