KARACHI – The chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti has said that masses won’t accept the mandate of the elections, held under the flawed voter lists. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that the bogus voter lists would produce bogus results in polls as three million votes of Karachiites were transferred to Balochistan, Fata and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.Mehanti said that election commission’s staff had to go door-to-door to inquire about voters, however, they compiled their lists, while sitting in unit and sector offices of a fascist party. He said the entire drama was staged to transform Karachi into a stronghold of a particular party. He said that the Supreme Court of Pakistan also admitted that three million votes had been mentioned with incorrect addresses. He further said that next general elections would be ineffective, if these flaws were not been removed. He said that it would be tantamount to usurp the rights of masses. It is pertinent to mention here that the petition, filed by JI before Supreme Court, is going to be heard on Wednesday (today) and JI Karachi deputy secretary general Muslim Pervez will be present on the occasion. Meanwhile, Central Deputy Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples Party and Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that Nawaz Sharif wants to flee from elections because he has felt his sure defeat in elections and he has got confused what to do. This he said in statement issued here on Monday. He said that Asghar Khan case had exposed the political and moral status of Nawaz Sharif before the masses and if there were a repeatable politician in spite of Nawaz Sharif he would surely apologise the nation and would return looted wealth of the nation as well but Nawaz had no such moral courage that he should apologise, return the looted money and quit the politics. He added that rigging in 1990 elections has proved Nawaz Sharif a national criminal. The provincial minister said that on November 30, there would be foundation day of Pakistan Peoples Party and nationalists were observing strike on that day which showed their sick mind attitude. He said that it was a fact that nationalists used to work on different agendas and these so-called nationalists had never accepted creation of Pakistan till today. He warned that if transport and shops were closed forcefully on November 30 or people were terrified in any way, then law would come into action and they would be dealt with iron hands. He asked why these nationalists remained silent in regime of dictatorship and why these so called Nationalists become active in democratic government of the PPP and they start strikes, agitations and sit-ins.
