WAZIRABAD - A number of people including Press Club office-bearers, politicians and the assistant commissioner laid floral wreaths at Maulana Zafar Ali Khan’s grave and offered Fateha at Karamabad graveyard, Wazirabad ahead of his death anniversary.

Addressing the visitors, Muhammad Asif Kalair, a candidate from PP 104, stated that Maulana Zafar wanted to see Pakistan a welfare state but his thoughts were not implemented. “Lower and middle classes still follow the thoughts of Maulana but the ruling elite never tired to materialise the teachings of Maulana Zafar, Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam,” he said. 

The candidate added that the time had come to promote Maulana’s Ideology. “All the people of Pakistan have to struggle jointly keeping the thoughts of Maulana in view to face the challenges,” he said. He added that all the people especially political leadership should take guidance from the sayings of Maulana and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. 

The leadership in Pakistan should keep abreast of history, he said. The visitors included AC Muhammad Suhail Akhtar, Muzaffar Bhatti, Muhammad Khalid, Tahir Rafiq, Inamullah, Muhammad Afzal, Iftikhar  Ahmad and Yousuf Masih. Earlier, staff of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Degree College, headed by Dr Allama Muhammad Asif also visited the grave.
