LAHORE - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director General Javed Miandad has said that there is no issue between the cricket board and the Punjab government and both are collectively working for staging the National Twenty20 Cricket Cup in a trend setting manner.

Talking to the reporters here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday, Miandad said: “Punjab government has assured us its fullest cooperation and top security for the participating teams of the Twenty20 event and we welcome their positive gesture.”

He said all the issues between the PCB and the Punjab government had been resolved and both were now in close liaison as far as the staging of the T20 event was concerned.

The former Pakistan captain said the PCB officials had productive meetings with the concerned departments of the Punjab government regarding holding the Twenty20 event and all the preparations were being made with their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the event in the city.

He said the matches would be played at three ground including Gaddafi Stadium, LCCA ground and Bagh-e-Jinnah ground. “The second match at Gaddafi Stadium will be held under lights and rest of the matches will be played in daylight.”

He hoped the Twenty20 matches would bring crowds back to the grounds especially at Gaddafi Stadium which is the home of cricket in Pakistan. He said he anticipated full house during the second match on each day.  “The PCB is striving for the cause of cricket and we are glad that Punjab government has joined us for making National Twenty20 Cup a big success,” he concluded.
