ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that Pakistan has always attached great importance to its time-tested relationship with China and Pakistan-China friendship is an integral part of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

He was talking to Ambassador-designate to China, Masood Khalid, who called on him at PM House on Tuesday.

Expressing satisfaction over present trade relations, the Prime Minister directed the ambassador designate to work for further expansion in trade between the two countries. He underlined the need for transforming the friendship between the two countries into strong business partnership. The prime Minister said, “We are proud of our excellent relations with China, with which we have a strategic partnership.” Our cooperation with China on regional and international levels is exemplary, he added. The PM emphasised that the friendly ties between the two countries were backed by social, economic and cultural cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education and health.

Meanwhile, Jamshed Ahmed Dasti, MNA, Anwar Saifullah, MPA from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pir Syed Nazim Hussein Shah, member Federal Council PPP, Mirza Fazle Haq, ex-MPA, and Salis Kayani called on the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Tuesday morning at PM House, Islamabad and discussed with him issues pertaining to their constituencies.

The Prime Minister urged the legislators to actively play their role for bringing about positive changes in the lives of people at the grassroots level. He urged them to regularly monitor the implementation of ongoing developmental projects and ensure their timely completion for the benefit of the people.

The Prime Minister said that the government has allocated record development funds in various sectors, which will improve the living standards of the people.
