Raja, Aitzaz discuss Lahore politics




LAHORE-Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday visited the residence of senior PPP leader and former President Supreme Court Bar Association Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan and discussed with him the electoral politics with special focus on Lahore.
He was accompanied by Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmad
Wattoo, Special Assistant to PM Aslam Gill and PPP’s Punjab General Secretary Tanvir Ashraf Kaira.
As per sources, the PPP bigwigs considered different options to field potential candidates against those of the rival parties in the upcoming general elections.
The prime minister was told that Bushra Aitzaz would be PPP candidate from NA-124, a seat previous contested by her husband.
Wattoo also told Raja that a committee comprising three senior party leaders from Lahore had already been set up to suggest names of electables for the coming electoral ballets in Lahore.
Three former presidents of party’s Lahore chapter-Aslam Gill, Azizur Rehman Chan and Mian Misbahur Rehman-have been assigned this task. 
The prime minister on this occasion said that party must complete its homework on coming elections before their formal announcement.
Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf called on the prime minister at State Guest House and reportedly briefed him on issues relating to the upcoming Pak-India cricket series.
