LAHORE-The 544th birthday celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak have started at Nankana Sahib, as Sikh yatrees from across the world are performing their religious rites here in a conducive environment.
A good number of yatrees from neighbouring India have also arrived to attend the event. Group leader of Sikh yatress from India, Dr Jang Bahadur Singh told the media on Tuesday the worship places of Sikhs in Pakistan were being looked after very well by the Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairman Asif Hashmi. He also expressed his satisfaction over the security arrangements made at the shrines and the accommodation provided to members of his community. “I thank Mr Hashmi for the excellent arrangements made for the Sikh yatrees here”, he said, adding that the kind of hospital they were enjoying here was appreciable.
Bahadur Jang further stated that he had read a lot about good work of Asif Hashmi in Indian newspapers, but now he had seem all that with own eyes.
Other Sikh yatrees accompanying him were also all praise for ETPB chairman for making good arrangements to facilitate their visit. They said they were not facing any security problems in Pakistan.
