LAHROE (PR): ACCA Pakistan and Multan Chamber of Commerce discussed the various issues and opportunities for organisations in Pakistan and how the organizations and businesses can grow and develop with the ongoing changes. It’s essential that SME’s assume and plan for volatility and prepare for true globalization.

Meezan Bank to assist Ethical Finance Limited

KARACHI (PR): Meezan Bank has entered into an agreement with Ethical Finance Limited (EFL), a limited liability company set up by a team of professionals with the objective of setting up Republic of Mauritius’ first retail Islamic bank.

Under this Agreement, Meezan Bank will support EFL by sharing its expertise, knowledge & experience in the areas of Islamic banking product development, Shariah controls, training and other Shari’ah related technical services and support.

Irfan Siddiqui, President & CEO and Ariful Islam, Deputy CEO of Meezan Bank and Mr. Ismael I. Bahemia & Mr. Osman Rajack, Directors of Ethical Finance Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

This agreement reiterates Meezan Bank’s commitment towards its Vision of establishing Islamic banking as banking of first choice. Previously, Meezan Bank has provided similar services to Amana Bank Sri Lanka.

TUV Austria awards ‘Naurus’ with food safety certification

LAHORE (OUR STAFF REPORTER):  The TUV Austria Bureau of Inspection & Certification, formerly Moody International, has awarded the Naurus (Pvt) Ltd with ISO 22000: 2005 Food Safety Management System Certification. The Naurus is the leading beverage manufacturer & food processing company in Pakistan.

A ceremony in this regard was held at the South Asian Head Office of TUV Austria Bureau of Inspection & Certification in Lahore where Dr. Reinhard Preiss, Director International Business Development from TÜV Austria and Rashid Mehr, Chief Executive Officer TUV Austria, presented the certificate to the Executive Director Naurus (Pvt.) Ltd, Tajammul Hussain Chishti.

ISO 22000 is the most demanded standard to ensure safe food safety and provides a framework for international food safety requirements and is considered as an important mile stone for food manufacturers and food processing companies to achieve.
