LAHORE: The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) congratulated the newly-elected body of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) on Wednesday.

In a letter written to PFUJ Secretary Amin Yousuf, IFJ President Jim Boumelha showed full confidence to the newly elected body and said that IFJ is well aware of the myriads of challenges faced by Pakistani journalists.

“This horrifying ordeal is one that inspires solidarity and compassion among journalists of the world. We shall work with PFUJ to end the killings, to provide support for the victims of violence and to stand shoulder to shoulder with PFUJ in fight for peace, tolerance and the creation of a democratic media culture for the people of Pakistan,” he added.  PFUJ President Rana Azeem and Secretary Amin Yousuf thanked the IFJ president for continues support.–Staff Reporter
