ISLAMABAD - Welcoming the appointment of the new army chief Gen Raheel Shareef, JUI-F has hoped that the new chief will continue to support the civilian leadership on internal reconciliation regarding the dialogue policy as agreed in the last All Parties Conference.

JUI-F hopes that under his leadership civil-military relations will get further strengthened, says a press release issued from JUI-F office here on Wednesday. It considered that there was a dire need to further improve structured/institutional interactions between civilian and military leadership.

It added that War in terror policy of the US for “Af-Pak region” has failed to contain insurgencies in Afghanistan through surge strategy and use of drones in Pakistan as such Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership need to continue working, in unison, on the need of facilitating internal reconciliation.

The threat perception is evolving in the region as such in changed geo-political environment, so the religious party suppose that the new military leadership will be seized with the challenge of defining imminent threats to the country’s national security.
