US TV channel cancels Baldwin show

NEW YORK (AFP):
US TV network NBC announced Tuesday it was scrapping a late-night chat show fronted by A-list star Alec Baldwin following a stream of angry outbursts and alleged gay slurs from the actor. MSNBC already suspended UP LATE earlier month after Baldwin, notorious for frequently lashing out at paparazzi, allegedly subjected a photographer to a homophobic slur in New York City.
“We are jointly confirming that UP LATE will not continue on MSNBC,” said the network and Matthew Hiltzik, a representative for Baldwin, in a statement Tuesday. “This is a mutual parting, and we wish Alec all the best,” MSNBC added.
