LAHORE: The Hawking Club of Punjab (HCP) arranged a seminar in collaboration with Vets Care Club & Vets Care Organisation Pakistan, to celebrate World Falconry Day, "A Living Human Heritage" here the other day at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore.

As falconry was added to the list of "the Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity" by the Unesco on November 16, 2010, and in its reminiscence declared November 16 as World Falconry Day to be celebrated each year.

The aim of the seminar was to provide awareness about falconry and its related issues to our vets for the protection and rehabilitation of rare birds of prey and to ensure the modern revival of falconry.

HCP President Kamran Abid and Vice President Rafeh Arshad Siddiqui gave presentations about birds of prey species and their use in falconry and their management in captivity.–PR
