Rawalpindi - A woman and her son were shot dead while two others critically injured over land dispute at Sukrana Village of Kallar Syedan, informed police on Monday.
Rescue 1122 shifted the dead bodies and the injured persons to hospitals for post-mortem and medical treatment. The deceased were identified as Shabana, 45, and her son Shahzaib whereas the injured were Sheryar and his father Sajjad who received bullet injuries.
Police registered a murder case against attackers and held the four accused, they said.
According to Sub Inspector (SI) Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU), Anwar Javed, a man named Saim was constructing a boundary wall around a piece of land located at Sukrana Village along with a group of men. A woman named Shabana arrived at the site along with three others and tried to stop the construction.
On this, Saim took out a pistol and began indiscriminate firing on them. Shabana and her son Shahzaib died on the spot while the other two were injured. The killer managed to flee the scene, he said.
The victims were moved to hospital where doctors provided medical aid to injured and carried out post-mortem of the deceased. SI said police lodged case and nabbed four persons. Further investigation was on, he said.
