An accountability court on Wednesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file a response on the plea of former finance minister, Ishaq Dar’s wife regarding seizure of their residence.

Former finance minister Ishaq Dar is facing charges of accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.

In today's hearing, the court asked the reasons for not furnishing a reply on the petition filed by Tabassum Ishaq Dar, regarding seizure of their Gulberg residence.

The NAB prosecutor general requested the court for the further time as the answer couldn’t be prepared yet. The court gave NAB the final chance to file the reply in the next hearing. The accountability court then adjourned the hearing till December 5.

In September last year, NAB has seized all of Ishaq Dar’s moveable and immoveable assets, including a house in Gulberg-III, Lahore; three plots in Al-Falah Housing Society, Lahore; six acres of land in Islamabad; a two-kanal plot in the Parliamentarians Enclave, Islamabad; and a few plots and vehicles.

The accountability court in October granted permission to NAB to sell off the assets of the former minister.
