There is a common practice in the police that the expenses incurred by a police officer on case investigation or on individuals arrested, are not reimbursed to them. This is due to the non-availability of funds and also the absence of delegation of financial authority to the grass root level. With such meager salaries, when the police officer also has to pay for office expenses, they will be unwilling to perform. It is imperative that proper budgets should be allocated to the police department and a system should be introduced to delegate financial authorities up to a certain limit, to every police station.
