ISLAMABAD- Pakistan Army today moved troops to famine-hit Tharparkhar District of Sindh.

“Four companies moved from Karachi for relief in Thar,” DG ISPR Maj Gen Asim Bajwa said in a message on twitter.

He said that last night Pakistan Army distributed 60 ton of food supplies at four points in the district, adding four medical camps have also been established.

Bajwa said that two helicopters had also been moved for emergency evacuation, adding Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has directed for all out efforts to save lives and provide relief to the people of the area hit hard by the drought.
