Asfand urges govt, PTI chief to end power game, focus on IDPs’ rehab

PESHAWAR - Central President of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan on Monday urged the government and PTI Chief Imran Khan to end power game in Islamabad and follow the footsteps of previous ANP government for rehabilitation and repatriation of Internally Displaced People(IDPs).
He was addressing a Jirga of tribal leaders in Peshawar on Monday. Provincial President Awami National Party Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Senior ANP Leader Haji Ghulam Bilour, Central General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Bashir Ahmad Matta, and ANP parliamentarian leader Sardar Hussain Babak were present on the occasion.
Asfandyar Wali Khan deplored over the plight of internally displaced people in Bannu and Lakki Marwat and severely criticised the federal government and PTI for holding sit-ins for the sake of power. He said that earlier to the ANP has made a record by repatriating over three million displaced families to their hometowns.
He said that it is regrettable that the federal government could not properly handle problems of the IDPs and still they are languishing in their camps without proper facilities of shelter and food.  
He said that if these issues were not taken seriously then the day is not far to see another debacle like Bangladesh. He said it is astonishing that in most of military operations only Pakhtuns are targeted both by Taliban and army.
He also expressed his concern regarding lack of quality education system in FATA and a separate university for them. He said that future of FATA youth is at stake due to repeated military operations. He said that they will adjust IDPs children in Bacha Khan schools where they will be imparted free of cost education facilities.
He also demanded of the federal government to allow non-customs paid vehicles of IDPs to Peshawar and other settle areas to repatriate their families with respectable manner.
He appealed to President of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Mahmood Khan Achakzi, Aftab Sherpao, Siraj-ul-Haq, Maulana Fazlur Rahman to hold a grand Jirga to highlight the problems of IDPs and unite for the rights of Pakhtuns.
