Islamabad - Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, has reiterated to further enhance PAF support for the Nigerian Air Force in terms of technical training and other professional avenues.

He was addressing a ceremony which was held on arrival of Nigerian Air Chief, Air Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosa, at the Air Headquarters here Monday. The visiting delegation was received by Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt.

On the occasion, the visiting guest paid homage to the martyrs of PAF by laying a floral wreath on Martyrs’ Monument at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. Later, he called on Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt in his office. Both remained together for some time and discussed matters of professional interest.

An important event of the day was the signing of Mutual Cooperation Agreement between the Nigerian Air Force and Shaheen Foundation. The delegation also attended a briefing at the Air Headquarters on the organization, role and functioning of PAF.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Chief also called on the President of Pakistan at Aiwan-i-Sadr, Islamabad. Both the dignitaries discussed matters of bilateral cooperation and professional interest.  The Nigerian Air Chief also called on Minister of Defence Khawja Muhammad Asif and Minister of Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain at Rawalpindi. Matters related to professional interest and future cooperation were discussed.  The Nigerian delegation also visited Air Defence Command, Pakistan Air Force. The delegation attended a briefing on the working of Air Defence Command and also visited Air Defence Operation Centre. On their arrival, the delegation was received by Air Vice Marshal Ejaz Mahmood Malik, Air Officer Commanding, Air Defence Command, Pakistan Air Force.

The 8-member Nigerian Air Force delegation is on a 5-day visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan Air Force. The delegation will visit various PAF bases and installations.
