LAHORE - A PTI delegation, led by party Vice-chairman, Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq at Mansora on Monday.

Both parties’ leaders discussed political situation including matters of PTI lawmakers’ resignations from national assembly. KP CM Pervez Khattak and Ejaz Chaudhary were the part of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s delegation.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the JI chief impressed upon the government to show large-heartedness and implement the decisions arrived at the opposition Jirga during the PTI and PAT sit-ins.

He said that so far, neither any draft regarding the electoral reforms had been received from the government nor the JI had been informed of any progress on the matter. He said if the government delayed the setting up of the Judicial Commission and the reconstitution of the Election Commission in spite of its announcement in this regard, the next elections would also be controversial.

Shah Mehmud Qureshi told newsmen that the PTI and JI coalition in KPK was good experience and that the PTI delegation had called on the JI chief to find out ways and means for improving the working relationship between both the parties.

A private TV channel reported that the  PTI gave mandate to the Jirga to resume talks with government.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Lahore District Bar Association called on JI chief at Mansoora on Monday. The 15-memebr delegation included the Bar president and secretary.

The JI chief said that there were separate laws for the rich and the poor. A poor man rushed from one end to the other for justice but failed. He said whether it was martial law or so-called democracy, the same VIP class had been in power for the last 67 years. The children of the rulers studied abroad whereas the children of the poor went to schools having no facilities.

Sirajul Haq said that the masses had rejected the over-billing by the electricity companies.
