Islamabad: Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his grief over the natural calamity that caused loss of precious lives.
In his message of condolence to President Mamnnon Hussain, Xi said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners of cooperation and the Chinese people also feel the pains of the Pakistani people in the face of the disaster.
China is prepared to provide assistance to Pakistan if needed. He expressed the belief that the government and the people of Pakistan will overcome the aftermath of the disaster and rebuild their homelands, reports Chinese media.
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang expressed deep condolences with the earthquake’s hit families in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He further said, the Chinese government is prepared to assist Pakistan with disaster relief at its request.
Red Cross Society of China will provide emergency assistance in cash, he said at a regular press conference. Our hearts go out to countries affected by the earthquake, he added.
China has always been on forefront helping the people of Pakistan at the time of such calamity. It was the first country during 2005’s earthquake, providing huge support to Pakistan in rescue and relief operation. China always stood with Pakistan in the hour need and showed generosity in helping the affected people, said a senior Pakistani official while commenting on the statement of Chinese foreign office.
