KARACHI - Top 15 foreign companies will invest soon in Karachi, said Sindh Governor Zubair.

He was speaking at a seminar organised by Pakistan Media Development Foundation on Friday on Karachi problems and its solutions. Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar, Sindh minister for information and transport Nasir Hussain Shah and a large number of journalists, businessmen also attended the seminar. Senior journalists highlighted major problems of the city and gave recommendations for their solution.

Addressing the seminar, the governor said that the city faced many serious problems which should be resolved on priority. He said: “Federal government is keenly interested to resolve these issues and many projects of water, circular railway, Green Line, 500-bed hospital and medical university would be completes soon.

Karachi leads country’s development. Due to law and order situation the private sector was compelled to shift their investment from the city. With the Federal government’s interventions now law and order situation is becoming better in the city and more than 15 top foreign companies would invest in Karachi soon.

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said city’s problems are rising day by day and need solution as soon as possible. Those parties who ruled for 70 years are responsible for the situation. The citizens are deprived of their basic rights including healthcare, roads and education. He said government hospitals seemed nonfunctional. We need to gather under an umbrella and help public by resolving their issues.

Provincial Minister for Information and Transport Nasir Hussain Shah said the city has many problems and our efforts are continued to resolve these issues on priority. The citizens know improvement in major sectors had started in PPP government. The Sindh government also has a big contribution in the betterment of law and order situation in the city, he said.
