PESHAWAR : Adviser to the Prime Minister and President PML-N KP chapter Ameer Muqam has alleged massive rigging in NA-4 by-poll, resulting in the victory of the PTI candidate.
Addressing a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Friday, Ameer Muqam claimed that he has solid proofs of rigging in the polling.
He alleged that KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has manipulated the electioneering by employing people of his choice on election duty.
The PTI government in KP, Amir Muqam added also committed pre-poll rigging by announcing developmental packages in the constituency after the announcement of election schedule by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The announcement about solarisation of 400 mosques in NA-4 constituency is pre-poll rigging, Muqam argued while substantiating in allegations.
While clarifying his position about the announcement of developmental schemes in NA-4, he said that he did not launch even a single project in the area after the death of late MNA Gulzar Khan.
“If someone proved that I on behalf of the federal government has launched a single project or released a single rupee for developmental work in NA-4, I will resign from politics,” Muqam claimed.
He also alleged involvement of staff of Election Commission in rigging during polling for by-elections.
Amir Muqam said without the consent of the election commission staff, rigging cannot be committed.
He said that he has proofs that duty of some polling staffer was changed during wee hours between the night of October 25 and 26 for appointed of selective staff.
There are proofs that some of the polling agents when reached for performing duty, they were informed that their duty has been changed to other polling station. Similarly, he continued, in some polling stations where our observers' belief that only five to six hundred votes have been polled, the result was in thousands.
Muqam said the turnout was low, but election results show good turnout which smacks of rigging and manipulation during and after the polling process.
He congratulated PTI Chief Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak over retaining the seat by committing massive rigging.
In response to a question about approaching the court for taking notice of rigging, Muqam said he raised these issues just for educating the masses and to unveil the real face of the PTI leadership.
