ISLAMABAD : The National Accountability Bureau has initiated an inquiry against the National Testing Service (NTS) on leakage of question paper before the test.

Chairman NAB Justice (Retd) Javeed Iqbal ordered inquiry into the alleged embezzlement in the NTS and leakage of paper before the test.

Students staged protests in different cities of Sindh province after reports that a test paper for admission to medical universities of Sindh has been leaked. The affected students had also protested outside press clubs along with their families and civil society members.

The pre-entry test for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes in medical universities and colleges of the province was conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS).

The apparent leak of the paper has sent a wave of disappointment among students who appeared in the test on October 22.

In a statement, Chairman NAB said that the anti-corruption watchdog would not allow any institution to affect the future of students by violating merit and transparency.

The Bureau, which has received numerous complaints against NTS, has clubbed all of them and started inquiry, it added.

On numerous occasions, the NTS papers were leaked prior to tests due to which right of deserving students was compromised.
