Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan 's strong commitment to the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program to improve connectivity in the region, reported Radio Pakistan. 

He was addressing 16th CAREC Ministerial Conference in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. 

Highlighting the geo-strategic location of Pakistan , he emphasized Pakistan 's role for connecting the regions of South Asia and Central Asia and enhance trade and investment in the region.

The finance minister said that Pakistan supports CAREC's areas of focus in the sectors of energy, trade and transportation network.

Earlier, President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon while inaugurating the ministerial conference voiced his support for regional cooperation and integration to accelerate economic growth and poverty reduction.
