Iranian Kabaddi team arrives for 4-match series

ISLAMABAD Irans national kabaddi team arrived here on Monday to take part in the four-match series against Pakistan.
Top officials of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) welcomed them at the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport.
The squad consists of 15 players and six officials. The opening fixture of the tie will be held on September 29 here at Laiquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex. The competitions will be held in Asian style and are aimed at preparing teams for the forthcoming Asian Games which will be held in China this year in November.
An official of the PKF told this scribe that the players would be provided foolproof security during the tour.
We have given final touches to all arrangements to organise the event in a befitting manner. The basic aim of this series is to provide an opportunity to upcoming players to gain international exposure, he added.
It will also be fruitful for us to prepare better team for the 16th Asian Games which will be held from November 12 to 27 at Guangzhou, China. We have good chances of winning the medal in the games, he further added.
