Rainsford clubs Zimbabwe to victory

HARARE (AFP) Ed Rainsford smashed the last ball of the match for six to give Zimbabwe a two-wicket win over Ireland in a one-day international at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday. Rainsford, who had taken 4-23 when Ireland were restricted to 200 all out, clubbed a Kevin OBrien full toss over long leg for victory. Tatenda Taibu top-scored for Zimbabwe with his 15th ODI half-century as he made 62. For Ireland, Andrew White (47) and Gary Wilson (69) put on 115 for the fifth wicket before both were removed by legspinner Graeme Cremer. Brief scores: IRELAND: 200 all out in 47.3 overs (G. Wilson 69; E. Rainsford 4-23). ZIMBABWE: 206-8 in 50 overs (T.Taibu 62). Zimbabwe won by two wickets.
