MULTAN - The members of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) brought out a big rally to condemn blasphemous film from irrigation office here on Thursday. The protesters marched up to Chowk Nawan Shehr and carried out non-stop sloganeering against USA, Israel, Jews and the filmmaker. They staged a sit in at the Chowk and blocked the road. The speakers said on this occasion that the western world intentionally committed blasphemy to provoke Muslims as they were afraid of spread of Islam in Europe and America. They added that the blasphemous film was part of crusade waged against Islam. They said that the Muslim rulers kept mum and played the role of American agents which was highly condemnable. They asked the government to breach diplomatic relations with all those countries where blasphemy was committed. They further demanded the government to shut NATO supply forthwith.Meanwhile, a spokesman of Jamat ud Dawa has declared the members of its Deaf and Dumb and Blind Wing will stage a protest demonstration at Chowk Nawan Shehr at 4:00pm. Kitchen gardening to ensure pesticide free veg:  The Chief Minister Kitchen Gardening Programme is launched in Multan to enable people to get free of pesticide organic vegetable. This was declared by District Coordination Officer Multan Zahid Akhtar Zaman while launching the project. Speaking on this occasion, he added that the programme would prove an important milestone in government's drive to achieve the goal of a healthy and prosperous Punjab. He said that the packets of seeds of different vegetables would be provided to the people at the rate of just Rs50 per packet and one packet would be sufficient for the sowing of five marla land. He said that the vegetables would be sowed in the lawns, empty plots, plastic tubs, old tyres and used utensils while the rooftops of the houses could also be used for the purpose.Speaking on the occasion, EDO Agriculture Sardar Muhammad Akbar Khan said that the programme was launched in nine districts of the province and the agriculture department would also provide training to the students of schools and colleges besides supplying seeds. He hoped that the programme would make citizens self sufficient in vegetable production at domestic level.
