KARACHI – Difa-e-Pakistan Council urged government to take notice of the conspiracy hatched to wind up sectarian riots in the metropolis. The chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi M Hussain Mehanti demanded the government to take notice of conspiracies of hatched to flare up sectarian riots in the City. Authorities should take concerted action against terrorists without any political discrimination for a durable peace in the City. Mehanti was chairing a meeting of DPC at the Idara Noor-e-Haq, reviewed the post sacrilegious film situation, ongoing spree of violence and target killing, and conspiracies against sectarian harmony. He said that blasphemy in the pretext of ‘freedom of expression’ would never be tolerated and Muslims across the world had recorded their protest against the evil designs. The West must realise that “Inter-faith harmony would only prevail in the world, if stakeholders respect religions and religious faiths of others”.  He further said that some nefarious elements, who sabotage the peaceful protest in Karachi, were hatching conspiracies to erupt sectarian violence and riots. Such attempts had been taken in past but remained unfruitful. He also vowed to foil such conspiracies against the unity of Muslim Umma. Maulana Ghulam Mustafa of JUI (Sami group), JI representatives Birjees Ahmed and others also attended the meeting.
