MULTAN - The first Haj flight flew from Multan International Airport for Jeddah with 499 pilgrims on board on Thursday. The flight took off at 7:25am and MPA Syed Ahmad Mujtaba Gillani saw off the pilgrims. Haj, PIA and CAA officials as well as the relatives of the pilgrims were present on the occasion. Addressing the pilgrims before taking off, Syed Ahmad Mujtaba Gillani said that former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani launched direct haj flights from Multan while the expansion project of Multan Airport was also launched by the PPP govt. He asked the pilgrims to cooperate with the officials of the Interior Ministry and Haj Ministry as both the departments strived for their welfare.
