LAHORE – Imperial Greens defeated Imperial Whites by seven wickets in the 40th annual function of the Imperial Club here at Race Course Ground on Thursday. Imperial Whites, batting first, scored 180 runs in 25 overs. Aqeel made 45 and Zubair 38. Farhan Masood, the best spinner of the club and man of the match, clinched five wickets and Kamal Khan got two. In reply, Greens achieved the target in 20.5 overs for the loss of three wickets. Zulkifle, best batsman of the club, made 75 and Saqlain 40. Tahir Qadri got 3 wickets. Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. Secretary Sports Haroon Ahmed Khan, Najaf Rokhri, president of the club, Sharoz Rokri, Faisal Bilal, Riaz Ahmed and Bilal Cheema were also present on the occasion.  Speaking on the occasion, Mashhood said: “The sports culture was dying in the country and the Punjab Youth Festival has revived it and has also created record of youth’s participation. I appreciate the efforts of Imperial Club regarding its contribution in club cricket promotion.” Later, he distributed prizes among the prominent players of the club.
