ISLAMABAD - Lack of medicines and prolonged absence of doctor and other staff members has turned rural health centre, Kokina Khurd into ghost bungalow.
This is solitary health centre f or 10,000 persons of Kokina Khurd and Kokina Kalan but access to medical facilities in this centre is as remote as this is located in the remote area of the federal capital, said Jan Muhammad, a teacher.
This is operating in double storey building but lack of cleanliness arrangement has turned it into a dilapidated building wearing Mohenjo Daro ruins look, he added.
Doctor and other staff members’ visit to this centre is few and far between, complained Ishtiaq Ahmad, a villager. They only come here on first of every month to collect salary and remain absent the whole month long, he added.
You can see the herds of dogs barking and roaming in the premises of the centre because of consistent voluntary disappearance of the doctor and paramedical staff, said a group of residents.
The residents demanded strict action against the medical staff due to adoption of posture of malingerers and regularisation of their attendance therein otherwise the centre be closed down.
