ISLAMABAD  - The federal capital police have augmented security to thwart any untoward incident, a source said on Thursday.
The source said Islamabad Inspector General of Police Bani Amin issued directives to beef up security in the federal capital.
Additional police have been deployed around all important buildings while petrol has been enhanced and plainclothesmen will keep a vigil, the source said, adding that police commandoes deputed outside sensitive locations had been alerted.  Area (beat) offices are also directed to remain alert while Falcon and Eagle Squads are also assigned the task for effective policing and patrolling in the city.
Complete coordination among all wings of Islamabad police, including traffic police, special branch, city police, security police and CID has been ordered. It has been also ordered to start checking of hotels and guesthouses in the federal capital, the source maintained.
